Remembrance Day 2011

11am to 4pm Friday 11th November 2011

(Location:  DragonHeart Tattoo Studio, Portobello, Edinburgh)

2011 was The Royal British Legion's 90th anniversary and was a once-in-a-lifetime Remembrance Day.

At 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in 2011 - 11-11-11-11 - we acknowledged and paid respect to those who were willing to lay down their lives for their country.

To mark this special occasion, Jan inked small poppy tattoos at the studio starting at 11am.  Each poppy only cost £35 with £5 of the proceeds being donated to The Royal British Legion.

There were a small selection of designs

to choose from including realistic poppies

and Black & Grey versions of course!

We are delighted to report that

Jan reached her goal of 11 poppies!

Edinburgh Evening News were also

in attendance to record this special

This was a one-in-a-lifetime event but

rest assured that Jan is making

plans for a special annual remembrance!

“Thank you everyone for your support in making Friday's Poppy Charity Event a huge success! Your kind donations, thoughts and prayers for our lost and fallen were inspirational. It was indeed a pleasure and an honour to be part of such a special Remembrance Day....“

Motorcycle Safety Campaign

April 2015

Chaos at the studio yet again as a  film crew set up to record a notable road safety campaign.  Script involved one of the lovely riders getting a tattoo so Jan was quickly signed up to assist!

Licensed Tattooist Awareness Campaign

June 2013

We were invited to attend a Press Conference in Selkirk by the Scottih Borders Environmental Health Department in conjunction with their NHS and Police Departments.  They wished to highlight the significant issues they  were experiencing after seeing a dramatic increase in the number of unlicensed ‘tattooists’ popping up in the Scottish Borders.  The press and Public were invited onboard our mobile studio where they could see a licensed set-up and discuss the more positive side to our great tattoo tradition.
